Louisiana Folklore Society

The Louisiana Folklore Society was founded in 1956 to encourage the study, documentation, and accurate representation of the traditional cultures of Louisiana. Our members include university professors, professional folklorists in the public sector, secondary school teachers, museum workers, graduate students, and other individuals interested in Louisiana’s traditions and cultural groups.

The Louisiana Folklore Society requested a website that would showcase its members’ films, books, photography, music, articles and other works. I created a customized user interface, allowing society members to log in and update all of the site’s information through posts. Other site features include: customized theme, personalized header, image slideshow on home page, customized calendar, video tutorials, paypal integration, Facebook button, donate button, contact form, and automatic database backup.
